In-house toolmaking

Our in-house toolmaking department is an essential part of our value chain and stands for maximum precision, flexibility and quality. By fully mapping all relevant process steps in-house, we ensure short reaction times, maximum process control and consistently high tool quality – from design to series production.

With our powerful and modern machinery, we are able to implement even complex and sophisticated tool solutions economically and efficiently. Our technical equipment includes

• CNC cylindrical grinding machines

• CNC 5-axis grinding machines

• Wire EDM machines

• Surface grinding machines

• Own hardening furnace

We develop, manufacture and finish our own punching tools for shear and sharp cutting entirely in our own tool shop. We also take care of the maintenance of our tools, including grinding, repair and the targeted replacement of individual components, in order to ensure lasting high performance. The final production of our punching tools for steel strip production also takes place entirely at SPÄH.

We also realize individual tool solutions for our customers. On request, we design, manufacture and store customer-specific tools – from the initial idea and technical design through to the ready-to-use series tool. Thanks to the close integration of development, toolmaking and production, we offer our customers all services from a single source, thus creating maximum transparency, efficiency and planning reliability.

Thanks to our many years of experience, high level of vertical integration and bundled expertise, we guarantee precise tools, long service lives and reliable processes in series production. Our in-house toolmaking is therefore a decisive factor in the quality and cost-effectiveness of our rubber and plastic products – and a clear added value for our customers.
